Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August. This day commemorates India’s Independence from the British Rule on 15 August 1947, the day when the Indian Independence Act 1947 came into effect; it transferred legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly.
BACKCombined Annual Training Camp(CATC) was conducted from 27th SEP to 06th OCT 2019 at Alvas College Moobidri.
Various Training activities and competitions were held for cadets from different units.
A blood donation camp was organised on the occasion of NCC Day. Over 100 students and cadets from NITK participated in this noble cause.
More than 100 students and cadets in NITK took part in various activities on this day.
On the occasion of NCC day the following activities were carried out:

Cadets undergo Fire Training as part of the Basic Military Training
For the first time, fire training was held on 2 February 2020 in the newly inaugurated firing range.
As a part of Basic Military Training cadets undergo fire training every year.
For the first time fire training was carried out on our newly inaugurated firing range on 2nd FEB 2020.
The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into effect on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system, completing the country's transition towards becoming an independent republic. 26 January was chosen as the date for Republic day because it was on this day in 1929 when the Declaration of Indian Independence (Purna Swaraj) was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress as opposed to the Dominion status offered by the British Regime.
Army Attachment Camp was conducted at Madras Engineering Group & Centre from 2nd DEC to 14th DEC 2019. Cadets from diffrent Gps of KA & GA Dte.
Cadets underwent basic training in Drill, Bridging, Trenches, Explosives and Demolition
